MARCH 15, 2021 SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – OVERNIGHT: SUCH GREAT PRACTICE FOR AMERICAN POLITICS – FROM FOX: A Pensacola teenage girl and her mother, an elementary school assistant principal, were arrested Tuesday for allegedly hacking hundreds of student accounts to fraudulently vote for the teen as homecoming queen in the fall, police said. Laura Rose Carroll, 50, and her 17-year-old daughter, Emily Rose Grover, have each been charged with offenses against computers, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, criminal use of personally identifiable information, and conspiracy to commit these offenses. An investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement began in November when the Escambia County School District reported that hundreds of student accounts had been illegally accessed. Investigators determined that Carroll, an assistant principal at Bellview Elementary School, and her daughter, a student at Tate High School, had accessed student FOCUS accounts. The FDLE said Carroll had district-level access to the school board’s FOCUS program – the school district’s student information system. The investigation came after hundreds of votes for Tate High School’s Homecoming Court were flagged as fraudulent, with nearly 120 votes coming from the same IP address within a short period of time, the FDLE said. Today homecoming queen, tomorrow president of the United States. SMART GUY, HE'S RIGHT – FROM DAILY CALLER: Democratic political strategist Doug Schoen says the situation at the border is a “full on crisis” and the media is using a double standard to cover the increasingly tense situation while speaking to the Daily Caller’s Brianna Lyman. “We have a crisis, a full on crisis,” Schoen said. “Unless the Biden administration takes the issue on forcefully, we will have a full on crisis of politics and more important substance as we go forward.” Schoen said one of the causes for the recent surge at the border is that the Democratic Party won’t promote a bipartisan immigration policy. “I am afraid that the uncertainty in American policy and certainly the uncertainty with how the Democrats are going to approach immigration have only facilitated and developed a problem that’s a tragedy for all of us.” March 15, 2021 Permalink
CALIFORNIA GETS SERIOUS – AT 11:45 P.M.: THE RECALL EFFORT AGAINST THE GOVERNOR REACHES A CRITICAL POINT, AS DEMS REALIZE THEY COULD LOSE THIS THING. OH JOY. From Fox:
Nothing like surrounding himself only with the fringe left of the party.
COMMENT: Most oddsmakers still favor Newsom to win the recall election, considering the Democratic Party's deep advantage in California, and the fact that the Republicans haven't got a star candidate, as they did early in this century when they ran Arnold Schwarzenegger in a recall election against Governor Gray Davis. Arnold won, and Davis became the second governor in U.S. history to be successfully recalled. Republicans in this probable recall election will depend heavily on public resentment against Democratic policies, like open borders and school closings. March 15, 2021 Permalink WHAT? – AT 6:45 P.M. ET: THE WASHINGTON POST MADE A MISTAKE? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE. THE WOKE NEVER MAKE A MISTAKE. IT'S A BAD DREAM. From Fox:
COMMENT: This is the tip of the proverbial iceberg. It was long ago, back in the storied 1960s, when some journalists decided that simply reporting the news without fear or favor was beneath them. They would report a "higher truth," one that often existed only between their ears. They would "make a difference." They would be "change agents." They would "speak truth to power." Ah, we know all the slogans, don't we? And we know what those ideas have done to the American press. The most important virtue of a news service is credibility. Lose that and nothing else matters. And our press is losing just that. March 15, 2021 Permalink
MARCH 14, 2021 SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – OVERNIGHT: WHY DO WE HAVE AN ARMY? – FROM DAILYWIRE: The United States Army is reportedly considering doing away with its new “gender-neutral physical test” after test results showed that the majority of women failed while approximately 90 percent of men passed. Officials are reportedly considering having different evaluation categories for men and women due to the physiological differences between the two. “Research showed that the Army Combat Fitness Test [ACFT], which is the same for male and female soldiers, was leading to lower results for women with a knock-on effect for promotions,” The Telegraph reported. “An early Pentagon study showed that women were failing the ACFT at a rate of 65 per cent, while only 10 percent of men did.” A report from last fall found that 54 percent of women failed the test while only 7 percent of men failed it. The report said that Congress, which is controlled by the Democrats, stopped the new program from being implemented and the Army is reviewing whether it is fair. Congress does not want the test as it is current constructed to factor into opportunities for advancement, the report said. It is no disrespect to our brave female soldiers to say that changing the physical rules will put women at extreme risk. War is not a social experiment. It is brutal, and brute physical strength is sometimes called for. The Democrats don't care about military women. They care only about the feminist ideology. AN EDUCATIONAL DILEMMA – FROM FOX: Multiple California school districts are using state and federal COVID relief money to hand out bonuses for teachers and staff, with one district even suggesting the money be used for a trip to Hawaii. The internal memos have been shared online by "Reopen California Schools," a Facebook group started early on in the pandemic by Jonathan Zachreson. Clovis Unified School District, located in Fresno County, reportedly discussed using federal and state relief funds to give employees a "one-time payment to employees … given the extraordinary effort required of every employee over the course of the pandemic." Zachreson told Fox News that a person involved in the negotiations told him that the district has discussed employee bonuses as high as $6,000 per employee – rather than on students. Dublin Unified School District, located in the Bay Area, has proposed paying its teachers a one-time $2,500 bonus with state and federal aid to be used for, among other things, "an airplane trip to Hawaii" when the pandemic is over, according to an internal memo obtained by Reopen California Schools. What a disgrace to the teaching profession, if it's still a profession. The children come last. March 14, 2021 Permalink
AMERICANS ARE REMINDED THAT NANCY PELOSI IS NUTS – OVERNIGHT: The speaker has never been accused of being a stateswoman. But her extreme partisanship and absurdity have crossed a line. From Fox:
COMMENT: President Trump is right. There was no crisis at the border as he left the White House. Trump was well on his way to secure and defended borders. It was President Biden, with policies dictated by the extreme left, who created this new crisis. And the Biden administration shows no interest in modifying those policies. They are designed to increase the number of potential Democratic votes in the United States. Some are already predicting that the border will be Biden's Waterloo. I make no such predictions. The wayward press will cover for the president, and Republicans may garble their message. This is not the time for smug predictions. It's the time for starting a good fight,. March 14, 2021 Permalink

It nurtures dependence through its empire of government programs.
